September 2026 club meeting
Join us for an informative and hands-on afternoon at the home of Janice and Don Heiskell, whose garden features an impressive collection of daylilies, crinums, and a wide variety of other beautiful plants. Their thoughtfully cultivated landscape provides the perfect setting to explore practical techniques for efficient garden care.
In this session, we’ll walk through the basics of installing and maintaining a drip irrigation system - an increasingly popular choice for Texas gardens. Drip irrigation delivers water directly to plant roots, minimizing evaporation and runoff while conserving water - especially important during hot, dry Central Texas summers. It also helps reduce weed growth and keeps foliage dry, which can limit disease.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to improve an existing setup, you’ll leave with tips and ideas you can put to use right away. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and enjoy a beautiful garden setting with fellow enthusiasts.
